How to Maximize your Dental Benefit
The Northern California Carpenters Dental Plan provides comprehensive coverage through Delta Dental. Active Nor Cal Carpenters and their families receive a dental benefit that is superior to many commercial plans.
Here are some highlights:
- $2,500 maximum benefit every calendar year for you and all covered enrollees. Each member of your family has their own $2,500 annual benefit that renews every January 1
- Preventive services are covered in full, so you and your family can get your annual check-up, cleaning and a full set of x-rays at no cost
- Basic services are covered at up to 80%. That means you will pay only 20% of the cost for fillings and root canals
- Major services covered at up to 80%. You pay 20% of the cost for services like crowns and implants
- No deductible or waiting periods
Choose a Delta Preferred Provider (PPO) Network dentist for Greatest Savings
Your dental plan gives you unlimited choice of providers - you can visit any licensed dentist, with no approvals or referrals necessary if you visit a dental specialist like an endodontist for a root canal or an oral surgeon for a difficult extraction.
To receive the highest benefit and greatest savings visit a Delta PPO Network dentist. There are approximately 16,500 dentists in Delta’s PPO Network in California including thousands of dentists throughout Northern California.
There are three ways you save by visiting a PPO dentist:
- Higher Maximum - Your annual maximum benefit is $2,500 per covered person when you receive services from a PPO dentist, or $2,000 from any other dentist.
- Greater Benefit: When you visit a PPO dentist, all basic and major services are covered at 80%. At all other dentists, some basic services and all major services are covered at 50%.
- Greater Discounts: Patients can save more than 35% on average by visiting a Delta Dental PPO network dentist compared to the fees charged by non-PPO dentists.
Always Ask First
Delta Dental has more than one network of Participating dentists. To receive your maximum benefit and greatest savings, confirm your dentist participates in the Delta PPO Network.

What About Orthodontics?
Carpenter Funds Orthodontic benefits pay 50% of Allowed Charges up to $1,500 (lifetime maximum) per Dependent child. Benefits are paid in one lump sum. Orthodontic benefits are provided only to Dependent children under age 19.
Orthodontic claims should be sent to Delta Dental.
