Reporting Withheld Employee 401K Contributions
Failure to provide the documentation required, as noted in the link above, may result in untimely credit to an employee's 401(k) account.

The employee elected 401(k) contributions which your company withholds from employee paychecks must be forwarded to WPAS within one week from the paycheck date, with sufficient documentation to enable credit to the employee from whom the money was withheld. There are ramifications for untimely payment.

Effective December 31, 2008 - International Agreements/Industry Advancement: For all contractors signatory to the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBCJA) Standard International Agreement, the Industry Advancement rate for employees reported under the agreement increased by four cents ($.04).

Northern California Carpenters 401(k) Plan goes into effect September 1, 2008. Even though participation in the 401(k) Plan is voluntary for employees, the Bargaining Parties have agreed that all signatory employers will accomodate an employee's request to participate.

The Carpenter and Drywall/Lathing Master Agreements have been modified, amended, renewed and extended.

The new Carpenters Master Agreement is extended through June 30, 2012. Rates effective July 1, 2007 depend on whether or not an Employer has accepted the terms and conditions of the new Master Agreement either through an Association or independently.

The new Drywall/Lathing Master Agreement is extended through July 31, 2012. Rates depend on whether or not an Employer has accepted the terms and conditions of the new Master Agreement either through an Association or independently.

Drywall/Lathing rates will be effective July 1, 2007, except for the Health & Welfare fringe benefit and Apprentice/Journeyman Training fringe benefit contributions which will be phased in as follows:

Effective July 1, 2007 - Entire 46 COUNTIES

Health & Welfare Fringe Benefit

  • For Employers who have accepted the terms and conditions of the new Master Agreement through July 31, 2012, increase ninety-nine and one-half cents ($0.995) per hour for a total of eight dollars and fifty-five cents ($8.55) per hour.

  • For all other Employers, increase one dollar ($1.00) per hour for a total of eight dollars and fifty-five and one-half cents ($8.555) per hour.

Effective August 1, 2007 - Entire 46 COUNTIES

Health & Welfare Fringe Benefit

  • For Employers who have accepted the terms and conditions of the new Master Agreement through July 31, 2012, no change.

  • For all other Employers, increase twenty-five cents ($0.25) per hour for a total of eight dollars and eighty and one-half cents ($8.805) per hour.

Apprentice/Journeyman Training Fringe Benefit

  • For Employers who have accepted the terms and conditions of the new Master Agreement through July 31, 2012, no change.

  • For all other Employers, increase twenty-five cents ($0.25) per hour for a total of sixty-two cents ($0.62) per hour.
